The best and worst of The Body Shop (Cruelty Free Brand)

Sunday 4 January 2015
Hello everyone! For my first ever blog post I thought I would give you a run down on some of the best and worst products of The Body Shop. I have to say most of the products I have tried from The Body Shop have been a hit but there are a couple that are not my favourite. If you found this blog post helpful then please comment below letting me know.

The Best

Body Butters: The Body Shop is known for their luxurious, silky and smooth body butters. They are so easy to apply on the skin and leave the body feeling soft and moisturized. If you are someone who does not like feeling oily after applying a body product then these products might not be for you as they do take quite a while to sink into the skin. I like to apply them before going to bed and the next day my skin feels super soft. The product provides 24h hydration as it claims. Over all I highly recommend the body butters.

Frosted Cranberry 192g:  $20
Mango 48g:  $6

Body Polish: The body polishes are quite new to me but I have to say I love them! They provide the right amount of exfoliation for the body without being too harsh. The product claims to have cranberry extract as one of its ingredients which gives the product a settle yet beautiful scent.

Frosted Cranberry 75ml:    $20

Lip Balm: The Body Shop lip balms are a great product to have. They give nice hydration to the lips and are also really easy to throw in a handbag. The balm might look heavily pigmented in the tin but on the lips it gives a sheer wash of color. I personally like that because it is the perfect color for every day.  One downside is that you do have to pick the product up with your fingers and then apply it to the lips which can get a little sticky.

Frosted Cranberry Lip Balm 20ml:  $6

Shower Gel: Most of The Body Shop products are a great hit and it’s no different for this one. Mango is my favourite scent from the body shop as it’s so tropical and fresh. The shower gel foams up easily on a luffa and is easy to apply on the body. Over all it is a great and easy product to use.

Mango Shower Gel 250ml:   $9

Eau De Toilette: I hadn't tried any of The Body Shops perfumes but recently picked up one of them and I absolutely love it. The Frosted Cranberry scent is settle and soft. What I really enjoy is how the perfume does not smell chemically when you first spray it on (I’m pretty sure you know what I’m talking about). They are a great everyday scent and perfect for people who aren't into strong scents.

Frosted Cranberry 30ml: $15

Bath Lilly (Luffa): The Body Shop luffa’s or a Bath Lilly as they like to call it are the best. They last a really long time and don’t loosen and unravel as many luffs’s do after a couple of uses.  They are really sturdy and are not too harsh for the body.

 Bath Lilly:   $3

The Worst

Skin Clearing toner: The Tea Tree line is very famous at The Body Shop and I have tried quite a few of the products like the face wash and the tea tree oil. The face wash and the oil were not bad but they also weren't that good as they didn't do anything for my skin. The toner was the most disappointing of all though. First off you really have to shake the bottle so the stuff at the bottom can mix in with the liquid. I have to usually shake for a good 20 to 30 seconds for it too all mix up. It might not seem too much but if you have to that everyday then it can become pretty annoying. The product itself isn't that good. If I have a breakout and apply this product on then it stings where the breakout is. This product claims to be a skin clearing toner so it definitely should not do that. Over all this is just not one of my favourites from The Body Shop.

Tea Tree clearing toner 250ml:  $12

Tea Tree Concealer:  I don’t even have a picture for this product as I threw the product out a couple weeks after I bought it. To start off the concealer only has two shades to choose from; Light and Medium. Secondly the concealer is very thick and dry. It clings right onto the dry patches of the skin and looks cacky. It also is a difficult product to blend out because of its formula. Over all I do not recommend this product.
